Sunday July 24 2016 Spedag Ladies FC – Top of the league Zone A
Marked the end of the first leg match for this season and Spedag Ladies finished in style by handing the home team a 2-0 defeat. This was the 5th unbeaten run for the team. Our opponent was very good and had as many chances as we did, but the best team (Spedag ladies FC) carried the day and this was one of the matches that attracted a lot of people who came to support their teams.

Harambee Starlets forward Esse Akida scored a hat trick as Mombasa side Spedag FC continued with their winning ways by thwacking Gaspo Youth 7-3 in a thrilling Women Premier League (WPL) encounter staged at the Mombasa Sports Club in a round 5 match. Spedag got the ball rolling with Esse Akida finding the back of the net in just the 2nd minute of the game before Cheris Avilia followed with a cracker in the 18th minute.
In the half hour mark Wendy Achieng was on target with a third before Dorcas Kemunto grabbed one back for the Gaspo seven minutes later. Akida was at it again in the 42nd minute with her second of the match just before the stroke of half time.
After the break Akida completed her hattrick after rounding the keeper in the 48th min to tap the ball in an empty net. Elizabeth Ambogo then made it six in the 61st minute before Gaspo got a second in the 70th minute through Diana Wacera with Amina Kathra netted their third goal three minutes later. It was Sharon Bushenei who wrapped up the scores in the 81st minute to make it seven denying Gaspo any chances of catching up. Isaac Otieno the Gaspo coach admitted after the game that he was up against a good side but was confident of bouncing back in the second leg with experienced players.

Sharon Bushenei and Esse Akida scored a goal apiece to help Spedag FC defeat Makolanders 2-1 in an entertaining Women Premier League match that was played at Camp Toyoyo Grounds on Sunday 10 July.
Both goals came in the second half on ether side of Eileen Salome’s goal for Makolanders that only turned out to be a consolation.

Harambee Starlets prolific striker Mbeyu Akida was the star attraction for Spedag Ladies FC when she scored four goals that assisted her team to register a morale boost-ing 9-0 victory against Soccer Sisters from Nairobi during a KenyaJ Women Premier league match played at Mombasa Sports Club.
Mbeyu emerged the star of the game which was domin-ated by the Mombasa team which now has six points from three matches.Other goals were scored by Elizabeth Mwikali and Wendy Achieng each with two goals and Sharon Bushenei with a goal.Spedag opened their campaign with a 5-2 victory over Mombasa Olympic but lost the other when they went down 3-2 to Thika Queens.
Spedag having seven Starlet players in their line-up is one of the top contenders for the league title this season. Meanwhile, Selphine Muyonga scored a hat trick to steer Vihiga Queens to a second straight win as they thrashed Nyamira County Starlets 4-1 at Sironga Stadium. Topista Situma was also on target while Margaret Omweri found the back of the net for Nyamira Starlets. This was Nyamira Starlets’ first defeat of the season following a goalless draw with Eldoret Falcons in their league opener at the same ground. Champions Thika Queens picked maximum points as they posted a 2-0 win over Soccer Sisters at the Camp Toyoyo grounds.Mary Kinuthia scored from the spot with Christine Nafula adding a second.
At the Mumias Complex, Oserian maintained their winning run when they edged Vihiga Leeds 4-2. Jentrix Nabwire scored a double with Edna Sumba and Dorcas Shikobe finding back of the net once each for Oserian while Pauline Amutebi and Purity Anyetu netting a goal each for Leeds.Nyamira County Starlets picked their first point of the season after forcing a goalless draw against Eldoret Falcons at Sironga Stadium.Nyamira will play their second match of the season on Sunday at the same venue against Vihiga Queens.
Meanwhile, Ali Abondo’s goal was enough to give Green Palm Academy a 1-0 victory over traditional arch-rivals Tononoka 1-0 during the boy’s football final match of the Mombasa County Secondary Schools.Green Palm Academy coach, Swaleh Abdalla Sunda said they would continue training hard to make sure they win the Coast Regional Secondary Schools Term Two ‘B’ Games to be held at Shimo la Tewa.
